2012-12-01 Still Fighting

Hopefully you've noticed, if you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, that we've not gone silent as we work on hunting down a bassist. We're still posting something for you every Saturday, we're still building songs (so there will be plenty of new to add to the old once we've got our new guy), and we're still hunting. Actively. Cos we all agree that we're looking for someone who can bring the kind of musical and personal magic we had with our original bassist, Johnny. We hope it won't take long, but we feel like we, you, the music all deserve our best effort.

In addition to Varnish, we've all got other things we're working on. If you keep an eye on us online, especially on the Twitter, I try to give you a peek at stuff as it happens. Some of it is just us out supporting other local bands, some is other musical projects, and some is a cause you've heard us talk about before.

As many of you likely know, our aNdi has volunteered with (and we've played for) Rain City Rock Camp for Girls. They're a non-profit dedicated to "building positive self-esteem in girls and encouraging creative expression through music." Their camp sessions are always full, but the same cannot be said of their volunteer positions. If you're local and have some time, we hope you'll get involved as a volunteer. And, whether you want to volunteer or have a girl you know who'd dig being involved, you can find similar programs all over the country. We think you should. Really!

If you're in the Seattle area (though I'm guessing you might find something similar in other places) and you're a lady who wants to rock, even if you have no experience or you want to try out a different instrument, never fear. Rain City Rock Camp also has assorted Ladies Rock Camp sessions that are friendlier to your day-job-having schedule. There's one coming up in May, so get on that!

What would you like to see/hear whilst we continue our bassist hunt? Send us an email and let us know, lovelies.
