We're off by a week with the blog this month, but still planning to be on time with the vlog. Worry not, lovelies!
I'm moving house right now, so I'm pleased to say this is going to be quick. Hurrah! And late. Boo!
It's been a crazy month of working hard to get ready for live gigs again. And we've done it. New bassist Jon is ready, and we've started booking again. We've even played a couple shows.
The first folks to see us were the future rockstars at Rain City Rock Camp for Girls. We always have loads of fun playing for them and answering their questions after. If you've got daughters, we'd encourage you to find a similar camp in your area (they have them all over). If you're a musician, check out opportunities to volunteer at the camp or to play shows. It's easier to believe in good futures when you see who might be rocking that future. (Our aNdi volunteers at the camp and loves it. I bet she'd love to tell you why you should do the same...)
We didn't make the adults/non-girls wait long for a chance to see us. We played our first "real" show with new boy Jon at Nectar just a couple days later. We rolled out our new song and rocked like kids who haven't had a chance to do that in ages. (Oh, right...cos that's what we are....) We had a great time, we enjoyed the other bands, we got high praise...So let's call it a triumphant return! Definitely looking forward to a return to playing regularly. And a return to seeing more of your pretty faces.
We'll get some pictures up from both the shows as soon as I get my hot little hands on them. I know some of you like to look. Heh.
Oh, yes, new songs. We had one for you at the Nectar show, one at the next, and have enough others on the cusp of completion that the next few months (at least) should bring you new sounds regularly. Hope that excites you as much as it does us. You can check out the lyrics to Blacking Out (aka the new song at the Nectar show) in case you want to be ready to sing along next time!
And I think that's actually it for this month. Come to shows, hang out with me on Facebook and Twitter, send me your requests for stuff (especially vlogs!), and keep being part of the goodness.
