2013-08-18 How I Fill Time

Keep an eye on our Facebook or Twitter for the most updated information in the timeliest manner :)

Upcoming Shows

We'd love to see you at shows, cos there's no purpose us leaving the practice space without you coming out! (We'll just be able to play monthly for the next little while, so we hope you'll take advantage of that.)

There will be posters and Facebook events and such, but here's the info to save the dates:

  • 18 September at High Dive, Seattle, WA
  • 4 October at The Mix, Seattle, WA

If you come out and take pictures you're willing to let us share with people, we'd lovelovelove to hear from you. All the people who live nowhere near will be grateful to live vicariously through your photos.

Changes to my Time = Changes for You

In other schedule news...I've mentioned this other places. But just in case you're not tracking us closely...

As you know I've been trying to post something new for you every week. And, with the exception of a couple months I took off, I've done it for quite some time now. I enjoy creating new things for you and could see continuing on like this for ages.

Lately, I've had some new demands on my time. Things have been crazy. And, whilst that's been going on, I've also developed the need to sort out getting some music videos made and other stuff that I think will help you enjoy us more. All of which, of course, takes time. Given I need to sleep in order to stay just sane enough, something has to give.

To that end, I'm planning to scale back the frequency with which I post blogs and vlogs and with which I send email. At least for a little while. Just until I get the other stuff sorted that, I believe, you'll like and find a fair exchange. For the next while, my plan is either a Varnish blog or a vlog each month, intermittent blogs on my site (no plan there...but it won't be every other week like it has been), and a newsletter every quarter and/or when there's big news.

New Bassist, Old Smile

Last night, we brought out our new bassist. I'll get info about him up on the right places soon, but he's called Sanjeev and he's a talented boy. With him on board and good to go, we're out and playing again. At last. And that's a brilliant thing!

By all accounts, the show last night was one of our best. I had a fabulous time, and totally loved seeing all those shiny faces. And the dancing! And the singing along! If you were there, know that you were part of some of the most fun a girl can ask for. We brought out two songs that were basically new, and we ought to be doing that more often.

After our set, one of my good friends told me that it was nice to see me smile like that again, that it had been too long. Now, this isn't to say that I've been walking around looking like a sad panda. Not at all. But there's something to this. Thus far in my life, the joy of a good show is my favourite high. So there's no question that the smile he was seeing was one based in a particular joy, a joy I hadn't gotten to have in far too long.

I hope you'll come be part of that high. I hope you'll also get all sorts of good feelings from coming out to be part of things.

Now, any questions or requests for the blog or vlog or site or anything? Thoughts about the changes? Drop me an email, lovely.
